Smoke Detectors

We had our Montana out for the third time and everytime we cook we turn the stove fan on and the fantastic fan which is located on the high part of the ceiling. then just to the front they mounted the smoke detector, so back to cooking, evertime we cook the smoke detector went off. Finally I had enough and took it down. Has anybody else had this problem and if so where did you mount the smoke detector?

I call our smoke detector the "toast detector".

All RV smoke detectors in small areas are overly sensitive. I take mine down and throw it on the sofa while we cook. The toaster alone will set it off.

Smoke detector kitchen

Mine is a toast detector, also. I put my toaster on top of the stove burner cover and turn on the fan for the hood (which in my case exhausts to the outside). Some units do not vent outside (and be sure the outside vent flap lock tabs are in the open position if it vents outside.
Also, the ceiling fan will overpower the vent fan and draw the toaster fumes in to the space. The hood fan when running needs a cracked window or something for make- up air while running the fan.

That might be my problem I never knew there where tabs holding vent flap. I just went out and checked sure enough, there where tabs holding the flap shut. Thanks for the info
