Replacing lights on front cap Outback 300ML.

Has anyone ever replaced the lights on the front cap? The top set of lights, about every 4th or 5th "bulb" is discolored, and on the bottom set a few lights dont work either, and has faded to a different color than the top ones. I thought about changing the color or even changing them to a remote system where i can control the color. Has anyone replaced theirs? How bad of a job was it? Of course i know they are 12v, and look like they have a small 18 gauge set of wires going to them. Thank you for the help!

I replaced mine from a bright white to a bright blue. I bought it by the foot and soldered the connections together, and silicone seal with white RTV. It took about a hour and a half to remove and replace.
