Friction hinge does nothing.

We have a 22 Coleman 17b and the friction hinges do nothing. There is no resistance at all. Is there some sort of adjustment?

You should probably count your blessings that they don't work, most are just a pain & typically end up pulling the door apart.

Ours worked very well but not for very long. There’s still a little resistance but not much. I kind of liked it but I find I really don’t miss it either.

Ours weren't excessively stiff under use, but apparently were stiffer than the doorframe could handle [LINK]. I had to replace the entire door. My advice is, you lucked out. Buy an aftermarket hold-open hook and count your blessings.

Good info on this forum. Just to hitch a ride on the op? . Should friction hinges be lubed? I was thinking silicone spray.

I agree with Danny. Mine just kept getting stiffer & stiffer. You could see the hinge bending the door (these doors aren't meant to take much racking in case you hadn't noticed). Got so bad I had to unscrew the bottom half of all the door hinges. Forced the hinge leaf back into to frame of the trailer filled the screw holes in the door and door opens easily. I think the engineer who thought those were a good idea should be 're-educated'

I didn't read up on mine but when they got stiff enough to start flexing the inside door frame I used WD40 dry lube on them, now twice. Works great, a little resistance but not too much and no accumulation of dirt on them.
