What size solid step

I have a 2018 cougar 25res and are thinking of replacing the outside steps. What size solid step does it take and how many steps. Are the steps closer together or does it just make it more stable because it’s legs rest on the ground? Any suggestions on best brands to purchase.

I love our Torklift Revolution Glowstep. Drop in replacement for the factory steps on my rig, took me less than an hour solo. Extremely adjustable, solid and can be deployed even in storage with rigs close together. They’re not cheap, but just a much better design than those that fold up inside the door.

I love my MorRyde Step Above steps but I agree with Joe; they take up a LOT of room when they are swinging out to open. They're so wide I can no longer get inside my trailer inside our storage facility. Think about those things and how you use your trailer to see if a solid step, fold inside the door setup will even work for you, then work on measurements.

The newest models have pins at the hinges so the steps can be removed if there's no room to swing them down. Of course you'll still need a step ladder to get up inside the door...

Don't know if mine are pinned are not - it wouldn't do me any good without steps and I'm not going to take them off/put them on every time I go to the trailer... I just pull it out and drop the steps now.

Thanks for the information. Does anyone know the door width and the threshold height of the 25res cougar half ton fifth wheel as mine is in storage and I cannot get to it to measure. I would appreciate any assistance with this issue thank you.

Don't know your measurements but wanted to update my previous posts from 2 years ago. I also bought the Torklift steps as well. They are the Revolution Uprising style. I got tired of pulling the RV out of the barn to go inside and these cured that problem since they have a scissor type extension. The MorRyde steps were more stable and robust but not as adaptable to narrow situations.

I think that there are too many variables involved to rely on measurements from anyone else or any unit other than your own.

I have a Cougar with the Solid Step and I am getting ready to replace them some folding steps. I cannot open the trailer in storage unless I pull it out and I have to carefully sweep them, or they dump dirt and water inside.
