New Hideout 174RK Owner

I am a long time tent camper and finally progressed to a new travel trailer. I just purchased a Hideout 174RK which will be towed by my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L V8. I bought the eazlift weight distribution hitch and have leveled things out. Sway control bar is in place as well. Brake control past my test. Watched many youtube videos, LOL, to assist in my learning process. I didn't even know how to drain the black/gray tanks until watching online. I am brand spanking new to RVs and will need plenty of help. Looking forward to tapping into the the amazing amount of experience I see presented on this forum. My shakedown trip is this weekend at William Heise County Park near Julian, CA. Expected low temps will be below freezing. Very excited to finally sleep warm on these adventures and wakeup refreshed.

Welcome to the forum

Congrats on your new purchase. Let’s make sure your first trip is successful and enjoyable. Are you going to have full hookups?

Your furnace is going to be tested a lot and if you don’t have hookups, you better have more than a single Gp 24 battery that the dealer usually puts in. You’ll want to disconnnect the water line at night so it doesn’t freeze and burst. Others will add, we want to make sure your not disappointed in your new adventures.

We bought a 177 rear dining last year and love it! Make sure and unhook hose at that temp or have a heated one. I just looked at 2022 prices for my RD model and they went up over $9K! only difference is paint and roof air!

Have a good time! Any questions just ask!
