Whirlpool Microwave Convection Oven F3C Error this is how to repair a common problem
Our 2014 Alpine 3495FL has a Whirlpool Microwave WMH76718AS-1 (similar to the WMH76718AW-1) that shows an error F3C when attempting to use the convection oven.
I managed to fix the problem and will share how here in hopes of helping the few others who may have a similar model/problem.
The f3C error indicates that one of the thermistors is faulty, and the convection feature will not work in this situation. The specific thermistor indicated is for the "Forced Convection" temperature sensor which is mounted above the top of the oven cavity to the left.
Access requires removal of the top cover. Testing across the red and white wires will likely show the proper 250k ohms, but the error in my case came from a wire with severed insulation due to improper routing.
If this is the case you will not need to replace the thermistor. Remove the top cover, look down into the wire routing to the right of the vent fan (near the large capacitor) to see if your wire routing is faulty. On my unit the white thermistor wire was pinched, with severed insulation, under the edge of the sheet metal. Free it, and tape it. Reassemble, and the F3C error should clear.
Hope this finds its way to folks who see that error.
