Wish me luck

I’m picking up my first brand new camper tomorrow. It just got delivered from the factory. I had a used one until recently but we went new and bigger so we could bring along the whole brood and spend much more time in the camper. The new camper threads are scaring the crap out of me. I never paid attention to them because all the bugs had been worked out on my previous camper. hope my previous experience and self prepared checklist will prevent me from driving off the lot with a major issue. Wish me luck! Glad to be a new member of the Keystone forum!

Welcome to the forum

Congrats on your brand new purchase. Just take your time and look at everything. Make them SHOW you everything works before signing any paperwork. If any cosmetic issues arise, have them noted on a “DUE BILL”. That’s a promise from the dealer to fix them. Any other issues become a “can you wait for it to get fixed” or again a promise to fix it.
In my opinion ANY dealership worth a darn will have your trailer ready with any issues from the factory already fixed or documented for repair. There is a PDI checklist I would print out and take with you, just advise the dealer your bringing it.

Don't know what kind of outfit you settled on but Best of Luck from Utah. Just do a thorough PDI and don't settle for anything not covered in writing.
Other than that, Welcome and Happy Camping!

Lots of the things you read from folks pertaining to new camper "defects" should have been caught by the dealer or buyer before it ever left the lot. Use that PDI list, make them take the time to go through every item with you. A good dealership (hopefully yours) will have gone through the trailer and have very few problems; little things will happen but you just prepare for that and get it done. You don't want serious problems you have to take it back to the dealer for again and again. Good luck when you get it and there are a lot of folks willing and able to help you if you encounter a problem.

Follow the advice about the PDI amnd mske them fix it before signing off, it's a big incentive for them to get it done. The only thing I would add is to document the PDI with your cell phone. A video record of where things are and how they work can save you a "how in the h... do I do this" which typically happens on a weekend late night "panic event". Congrats on your new camper!

Hello and welcome!

Congrats on your new camper, and as the other members have stated, do a very thorough inspection.

Have fun!

Welcome, we did the same thing years ago started with a used one and when we started looking at new ones and reading forums got nervous. Check out everything you can before pulling it out of the dealers lot.

Looks like the OP bailed after his initial post; hope he returns to see the PDI list Chuck dredged up for him. Seems like buyer shock and awe are getting more common in these days of pandemic purchases.
