My go to is my meter and start running things down. From ped, to cable (one end then the other) to power panel to whatever nots working. In this case sounds like it doesn't ever make it to the power panel so..... I'm sorry George, sounds like it may be some work. Good luck my friend.
FYI. A/C = air conditioning. AC = Alternation Current. just so we are all on the same page.

Actually the response (Cavie's) was intended to be helpful and I took it that way. I am a member of the Powerstroke (Ford) forum and MANY folks have been warned off of swapping parts indiscriminately as it is an expensive and frustrating way to resolve issues. I have been known to issue the "don't throw parts at it" warning myself. Since Cavie made the remark to me, perhaps I should be the one to respond if seemed necessary and I think I made my point sufficiently in my response to him. Matter closed as far as I'm concerned.

Folks, keep in mind we have members with varying levels of ability to resolve technical issues. Even some who can perform complicated repairs may choose not to do so because of age/health or just feel comfortable (and have the means) to have someone make the repairs. I repair pretty much EVERYTHING on my 19 year old camper but consider the potential ramifications of doing things I have no experience or ability to do. Some of it has to do with no longer being able to slither into tight spaces because of somewhat rotund figure. God bless ya'll.

Yep, I know that. Since George's post 10 and my post #11 which you quoted were referring to "AC" that's what was being discussed. Your tutorial on the abbreviation "A/C" is probably appreciated.

Wow, I had no idea they carried such a thing. It's rare for me to find something that Harbor Freight carries that I can really benefit from and haven't already picked up. Thanks!

I read this, and my first thought that there was a good Sunday "Far Side" cartoon in that sentence alone.

CD, there are none of us old farts here who don't remember 'The Far Side' with Gary Larson. One of the best of all time!

I'm just reading all the comments on this topic and I thought I would add my 1/3 cents worth.
1. Far Side can be found (occasionally) if you do a search for Larson's website or his publisher's email.
2. I doubt many of us are as trim and svelte as we were back when we were 20.
3. Very interesting to find a solution to the problems.
4. As far as the box protector, I've seen some new plastic insulator plugs which can be used to protect the opening from chafing the cord. I looked it up "electrical box insulator plug" and these are designed to protect the cord. Nice item to have in your tool kit.
