5th wheel newbie

New member and 5th wheel is new to me as well.New Milford CT. I have done a fair amount of towing small campers, construction pintle hitch), and utility trailers but the 5th wheel camper is a new experience. I recently bought a 2014 Keystone Cougar X Lite 25RKS. New Goodyears going on any day now and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Looking forward to feedback from here with any questions that are sure to come up

I personally would get up onto the roof with some tubes of self leveling Dicor and apply to any existing Dicor that has cracks or voids. Many youtube videos on resealing your roof. You do not have to remove the old stuff, just clean with alcohol and apply new to everything that once had Dicor and may need to be touched up. I would use NON self leveling Dicor on the edges of penetrations on the sides of the camper such as the strips that go over the edges from the room and the like and around the windows and storage compartment doors. Checking all the plumbing under sinks and such is a good idea; pex uses special clamps so be prepared for repairs there potentially. Get a toilet wand (if you trailer doesn't have a black tank flush) and watch youtube videos on how to use it. Never can tell how rigorous the previous owner was in keeping the tank cleaned out and ALWAYS use RV safe toilet paper even though it isn't all that great.
Oh yeah, put your camper year/make/model as well as the same info in a signature, this is up under the UserCP and will help others not to ask if you have questions.
