cougar 30rli cable slide out

need some advice here. TT is currently in repair shop, of course this all happened at beginning of trip! Noticed slide outs were jerking a bit when taking in or out. Upon packing up to head to next campground, we brought the one slide out in and loud snap. Cable broke away from that connection thing. Had to have people come out to get slide in. we then drove to a repair shop. Hoping only cable replacement. Both of my slides that are cable appear to be doing this jumpy jerky movement. If adjustment is good, anything else to prevent or correct this? we lubed all the cables and by pullies. I am reading something about cleaning the floor? I think mine is an above floor.
thanks for any ideas. Hoping we can continue on once cable replaced.
Side note, the walls by the pully almost look like they are twisting in???

Motors that move cable slides have a sprocket like mechanism that sometimes breaks teeth off and then has a popping, hesitating movement. Sometimes have to replace gearbox.
