Haloview backup camera

Ok - searched the threads and didn’t find anything so if I missed an earlier thread with this info please let me know. Just got into a 2019 Passport 239ml and I am looking to install a backup camera. The rig has a hookup for a Furrion camera, but it seems like they are overpriced for what they are (350 bucks on amazon). After some searching the Haloview camera MC7108 seems to fit the bill for 100 bones cheaper then the Furrion with some extras - bigger screen, DVR. Now the questions - I saw on the haloview website that they do sell a converter kit for around 12 bucks has anyone tried it on a passport and does it work? Secondly - is there a switch somewhere to turn it on - or is it constantly drawing power from the 12v system? Thanks again for the help and looking forward to the spring so we can enjoy our trailer!!

The wiring to the camera mount point on the back of the trailer will have been wired by the factory. Exactly what it's wired to is a good question. It should be connected to the running/marker lights, so that any time the tow vehicles lights are on, the camera has power. However, I've read posts where people found their power coming from the back-up lights and others where the power was on all the time and they had to install a switch to turn it off.
