Another good reason to have a good Surge & Electrical Protector!

If I had to Guess, I don't think it ever worked...... it didn't run from the dealer to a campground 30 mins away..... but we didn't have anything in the fridge from dealer to campground.... so i didn't think anything of it.

But a surge protector is in my future...

Remember, your fridge will take several hours to cool down. Especially if you load it up with room temp drinks. We start ours the night before and it is ready to be loaded in the morning before we pull out.

We also start ours the day before and anything that is going into it has already been chilled down in our home refrigerator.

UPDATE:

Brought TT to Camping World last week on tuesday.... and explained I needed TT back by today (Monday) because we are leaving out on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday evening they call me and tell me I need new control Board. (1 month old camper) OK, no problem. However unless I pay for overnight shipping, No way I get it back by Today (Monday). OK I will bite the bullet. get it done. parts were ordered overnight on Thursday AM.

I left a voice mail on Friday evening "checking in, see I could pick up Sat" no return call

Fast forward to today.....
I haven't gotten a call saying it was done.
I Drive the 1.5 hours to go grab my finished camper right?!?

Wrong. I get there.... "Did I call you to tell you it was done?" ME: Nope But I told you i had to pick it up on monday at latest.

Cant find paperwork, Finally located order request that got ordered Today, Normal shipping, wont see it till next week.

He says "you can run on shore power just not propane, right?" Yes I say.... that wont be a huge problem this trip as I'm parking most of the time in a campground or at my Dad's place in Florida (he has a 50amp plug for me.)

I hook up to camper drive home, plug in at the house to recharge whatever batteries drained, and make sure it's cooling the fridge..... what the heck, no lights on fridge..... check GFCI in bathroom (oddly on same circuit) it's tripped..... No biggie, reset.... Still no lights

Open access panel.... and what don't i find....... The old control board so, now no fridge at all for my trip!

Lesson learned. DW Hates me right now.....

When you get back you need to expand the list of folks that know you by name and face at the dealership; preferably the owner/GM. Then, recite your story to him explaining that you need to hear how he thinks it should have gone and what he thinks he needs to do to assure that doesn't happen to you again....or anyone else.
