Shower weight limit?

Strange question, maybe but does anyone know if there is a weight limit for the showers? We have a Bullet 221 RBS, hubby is 240-250lbs. Someone in a FB group mentioned something that got me thinking.

Thanks!

Can't speak for your specific shower but we have a Keystone Fuzion and I use the shower all the time and I weigh 310 and I'm 6'6" . Shower is fine but I"m going to install bigger skylight over the shower for my head to go up into. Hope that info is useful.

That is a good question. I would email Keystone for an answer, but I weigh about 210 and stand in them all the time when I need to do some work. AND I am dressed. I would think 250 is okay, but again I would ask Keystone.

At 250+ I have been bouncing around in these things for over twenty-five years and have not ended up in the basement yet. Although they do seem a little springy at times.

I have over 300 showers in ours and I weighed 325, feels a little soft but never failed. With a little encouragement I am loosing a pound a week, looking for a 273 new years. Sorry if some of my posts reflect it.

We hab a shower that was very soft. I took inspection cover off in front and added some 2x4's under it and it was fine.

Just to add that our last trailer had a "soft" feeling floor when I first walked in it during PDI. Come to find out that the one/some of the supports under the shower stall had not been installed. Fixed under warranty and like a rock since. Might be something to look at...we had a panel on the front under the shower that you could see/work under.

To add, it doesn’t feel soft, it was just that someone mentioned human weight in the shower and it got me thinking.

Thanks again!

I've often thought of reinforcing the springy shower floor and closing up the huge hole in the floor for the drain at the same time...maybe a combination of stiff foam blocks and spray foam. You would think all that weight be hard on the drain connection as well.

I cracked the shower in our 2011 Avalanche. It was in December, the temperature was below freezing. We stopped for the night. The trailer/shower did not warm up before I took a shower. I think the cold plastic was the main issue.

The one in our Hideout 5'er is big enough for 2. At least a friend told me they are.

If you can fit in an RV Shower it will hold the weight.
Most are a plastic fiberglass shell built over a plywood and either aluminum or wood joist frame.
Watch RV assembly videos or go to the factory tours.
Yes you feel some flex but not because it’s weak.
Shower away!

You might read my post #8. There could possibly be an issue.

I can't guarantee the validity of this in "every shower" but I've always been told that the weakest part of every shower is the drain fitting. It's the thinnest area, easily stressed because the "cheap chrome plated strainer/grate" will bend and doesn't reinforce or even support the edges of the fiberglass shower pan.

So, avoid stepping on the shower drain while moving around in the shower. Most of the "cracks" that I've seen in shower pans radiate out from the drain fitting.

I weigh 215 and after 2 cracked pans in my raptor 300mp, I had the sub floor built up with plywood.
