Radio antenna

Has anyone install an outside radio antenna? Last year I dug out the stock antenna wires from behind the radio and spread them out and remounted them. It helped a little.

Now I'm wondering about installing a small whip antenna on the roof.

Anyone do this? If so what were your results?

Our Cougar had an antenna for the radio when we bought it. Works like a champ. I get lots of radio.

TV on the other hand...

I mounted one on the side of the camper. My radio compartment was along the outside wall anyways and I didn't want to add a hole to the roof. It made a world of difference to my reception.

I did the same as above. I mounted an antenna on the side wall. Didn't want to mess with the roof. I mounted my a little higher than his so antenna is above roof line so camper didn't block signal.

Happy to hear of better reception from you guys that added one. Even on the side.

I was originally thinking of installing it in the roof right above and behind the radio. I could drop the wire right down behind the radio.

Then I remembered the radio is in a slide out.

Guess I'll mount it to the outside wall of the slide out.

KCSA75- A couple of weeks ago we camped with another couple. We were in lots beside each other. Campers about 50' apart. We each got 3 station. We each got 3 DIFFERENT stations. We have a Wineguard batwing and they had one of those smaller King antennas.
