OK,... what's up with AC wiring for water heater?

OK,... Why does my Suburban water heater have electric going to it but it's not electric? It has a breaker in the box labeled "water htr" and there is electric wiring going into the foam box around it but it has no element and no outside switch to turn it on?? It will operate with no electric plugged in so what is the AC power for going into it?

Just to prove you wrong I went and took a picture with my phone to show that there is no switch in there. Well after loading the picture on the PC I could indeed see that darn switch buried back in there behind everything. I have owned this camper for 3 years now and never (ever) seen that switch! I guess I owe you a cold one sir and my hat is off to you for making me look twice and see what is indeed there....

Campy,

That switch is installed "upside down" so to turn on the electric heating element, you push in on the bottom of the switch and to turn it off, push on the top of the switch. Looking at your picture, directly to the right of that switch you'll see a black rubber disc (behind the propane air mix tube). That is the electric element.

Finding a "new feature" in our trailers is almost like getting a new gadget for it, eh?
