Shower door seal

Does anyone have any ideas for fixes for the bottom shower door seal. It is a very fragile silicone/rubber type seal. It tears from opening and closing the door. This is our second one since we got the trailer. At this rate, we'll go thru about 4 or 5 a year.....

Sounds to me like the door is out of adjustment from top to bottom. The seal is designed to keep water in not to rip or tear when opened.Depending on the door style there should be an adjustment in the hinges. Also I just remembered the piece that the seal slides into is called the drip cap sometimes that can also be adjusted up keep the bottom seal from tearing.

Mine has came apart for about 6" where it closes. It doesn't leak but I tried to get a replacement from CW but they could not find it in stock or special order. Do you know where I can get one? Thanks

When I did the walk thru of my new trailer, i noticed the bottom seal was torn, i told the sales rep and they replaced it so I imagine they have a stock. The dealer is Camping in Style, Brooklin, Ontario.....

I had my 311 Impact in for shower door not staying closed, the dealer fixed the door but the seal at the bottom is ripped, it don't leak so its not a issue for me.

Try doing a forum search - I remember a post that described placing washers as shims under the door hinges. Might have been Chuckster - not sure.

Slide-Co 194342 Shower Door Bottom Seal, "T", 5/32 in. x 36 in. x 1 in., Clear Vinyl
Found the above item on Amazon.com
Oddly enough not available on Amazon.ca.
Also noted that there are seals with wider "T" tops, i.e. 5/16"

You might want to double check Lowe's before ordering. There are 3 or 4 different door seals in our local store and some other's online at Lowes.com

here's one for $2.25: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Prime-Line-...ipping/4774727

Additionally, our shower door has a "spare seal" located on the top of the door. If you think about it, that one doesn't do much of anything at all, and can easily be moved to the bottom of the door to replace the torn seal.

Yup, that's what I did when my bottom seal ripped in the first couple months. Never bothered to replace the top one, and never had water climbing the walls to get over the shower door. Probably should have a spare on hand though.

Mine was split so I ordered a roll of the stuff thinking that I'll be replacing it again down the road. Well I took it out, phone rang and I had to leave. It's been a yr and I still haven't replaced it and to my surprise the show has never leaked!

Probably get more water on the floor from opening the door after and the water dripping onto the floor. Besides mine has a lip on the outside of the base and I probably don't use enough water to ever overflow it even if it did leak.

Surprisingly I get very little water on the floor, maybe a few drips but I have a bathmat and I closed the door right after I'm out.
I also have that lip and the only way to fill up the pan is if the grey water is over full. I've had it happen twice and it stinks! lol!

Another good suggestion, close shower door when taking shower to minimize water on floor. Yes Steve probably should just pull out that seal that is bugging me and get ready to replace it and forget . Forgetting some time is a valid solution. I am sure if better half finds water on floor I will remember

You're absolutely right, keep the shower door closed or you'll have a flood and someone might see your butt.
If the wife never notices something that you forgot to replace then you're doing it right.
