Leaky Docking Station

Just purchased a brand new 2017 Cougar Lite and drove 100 miles away from home. The docking station water faucet leaks. When the hose is installed can't shut off the water at all. Any suggestions as to how to fix.

I feel a little ignorant here. I am not familiar with the term "docking station water faucet." Would I know it by another name?

I think the usual name is convenience center, where the water hooks up and there are sewer drain valves, etc.

if its the convenience center in question, the only faucet I know of in that area is the outside shower spigots ?

That's my guess. If it's the style with a quick connect hose, than a light tap in the center of the fitting might "seat" the connection. Just be careful not to gouge the fitting.

Yes it leaks out of the cold water handle. There is a steady stream of water. We tried putting on the shower hose and then we couldn't get the water to shut off at all.

Called a local dealer and they say a two week wait, we can try to replace ourselves, but everything is under warranty. A mobile tech may be able to come to service, but they don't know if they will do warranty work at all. Would have to negotiate price and then try to get Keystone to pay for it.

The docking station is what the dealer referred to as the compartment where you put in the water, both city or to fill the holding tank.

It sounds to me like the faucet stem may not be completely tightened into the valve seat. You can remove the handle, use a crescent wrench and tighten the faucet stem, reinstall the handle and see if that might stop the leak. If not, you might find a shutoff valve behind the center that would completely turn water off to that faucet (much like the shut off valves under your sink).

As for a mobile service tech, without written prior approval from Keystone, you'll be facing a "cliff" (not just an uphill battle) to get any reimbursement. I've got no experience with that kind of warranty issue, but from what I've read on the forum, I haven't heard of anyone getting reimbursement without prior approval. So, if you go that route, best of luck !!!
