Des Moines

One of our overnight stops on the way to the Montana national rally in September will be near Des Moines Iowa; give our take 100 miles or so (we don't want to be in the city). Any suggestions for nice RV parks?

Thanks

If you're looking for full hookups, there is a KOA about 10 miles west of Des Moines just off of I80. Very well kept and has been our weekend getaway spot quite a few times this year. We were just there again on Saturday night.

Thanks, I'll look into that.

PS: since these are just overnight sleep stops, hook ups are not mandatory.

Try Adventureland Campground in Altoona, just East of Des Moines.
Many attractions are within walking distance...BassPro Shop, Adventureland Amusment park, and a horse racing track.

Might check the parks east of Knoxville at Lake Red Rock. I haven't stayed there, yet.
