Electrical Question - Ground?

My RV didn't come with an USB charging ports or even a cigarette lighter socket so I'm attempting to install my own. It looks like this:

and I'm going to drill a couple holes in the ledge below the TV here so it will be pretty close to the control panel:

My question is this: I think I can tie into any hot (positive) wire from behind the panel but what about the negative/ground from the back of the usb/cig port? Can I also splice into one of the negative/grounds in the back? The back of the usb/cig socket has 2 poles...positive and negative.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

note: these are generic pictures from the internet. I forgot to take pictures of my camper before I came to work today. ;-)

As a Rule, any 12V circuit you find, there will be two wires. The white insulation is industry standard ground, and positive is colored or white with colored stripe. If the radio is inside that cabinet shown in the picture there is 12V feed there.

Would this work?

B = battery
F = inline fuse
S = switch
S1 = cig socket
S2 = USB socket.

Ideally, both sockets would be fused and only be powered when the switch is on and if 1 socket failed, the other would be operational.

Yes that drawing would work. There isn't really any need to fuse them if you just tie into any available 12V circuit. USB ports are becoming common place in lots of brands, and I can say that just about every time and place I find them, they are simply tied into the nearest 12V wiring. I have yet to see any "switched".

ALL the 12V wiring is fused at some point between the battery and the load.

I boondock a lot and there is some parasitic drain on the USB socket because it has a bright blue LED. I'd rather have it switched and I have an available switch in the panel from when I move the "interior" light switch to a more convenient location.
