No it's not !!! In many "bath forward" floorplans, the black tank and one gray tank are forward. In many, the fresh tank is the most "rearward tank" while in the "newer Cougars", the tanks are positioned "above the coroplast" and actually rest on the top of the frame crossmembers. This allows the tanks to be placed "side by side"... In my 27RKS, the galley gray tank and the fresh water tank are in the rear of the frame and sit side by side. The fresh tank is in the rear roadside and the galley gray is on the rear curbside. On many, the fresh water tank is "between the axles" so help accommodate loading and tongue weight, while on some, it's located under the bed (both is front bedroom and rear bedroom models....

You'll probably find it pretty much "in line" with the fresh water fill port on the side of the RV, but that may be off by several feet depending on slides and windows.

A "best bet" would be to locate the fresh water tank drain (under the trailer) and consider that the tank is almost certainly directly above that drain.....

Good Luck

Thank you sir; hadn't thought of the fresh drain as a locator. If that is the case its pretty far forward and may be of help getting some weight up front to help offset sway.
Much appreciated.

Are you using a WD hitch with your setup? And, with the rear of the truck lowered 2" from factory specs, would that have an effect on the sway problem? Also the tires, if they are P rated, may also add to the sway issue. I would think these things would have more to do with sway issues. Even if you ran with an empty water tank, you still have the rest of the package to think about.

Yes, hitch is Reese dcsc 14,000lb bars. I'm going to triple check the cams are centered in the detents before our first trip. I spent a LOT of time last summer playing with hitch head angle and different chain links under tension.
Yes, we also still have the awful P-rated Goodyear factory tires. My wife doesn't see the benefit of moving to the General Grabber 'C'/XL tires I plan on next. I was laid off last month so that won't happen until I find the next job.

With my unit, I do find I need the fresh water at least half full. I have a rear kitchen and it makes a difference with sway when all the food is in the fridge and pantry.

I have a 3220 and always travel with the fresh water tank full. It makes a big difference in handling. I am only using 800 lbs bars and it tows like a dream. Tow vehicle is a Lincoln navigator without rear air suspension.

I've read that TT's pull better with 12 to 15% of the total weight on the hitch otherwise you get the wiggle wagon effect.
