I went to work for Texaco in May 1971 and was trained to drive these tankers in Feburary '72. Drove until they shut down our obsolete loading rack in 1984. Went back to being a terminal operator and then into the office doing marine bunkering. We covered South Louisiana and Mississippi with these trucks...ran day cabs because we ran a day and a night shift so these trucks ran close to 500 miles a day. Now company drivers for the oil companies are scarce...most product is shipped by common carrier. The truck pictured is a '72 Diamond Reo pulling a 9,200 gallon Wilco tank. Picture taken in Oct. 1972 before the first gas shortage in 1973. What an experience that was! Many tight squeezes delivering fuel in the downtown New Orleans area back then.

It depends on the definition of "RV friendly". From my standpoint more than 90% of gas stations along major highways in FL are friendly enough. You should just think about your future trajectory when PULLING AWAY from the pump, since your trailer will move inside the turn and can clip an object, not to get too close to the pump or island, not to be in a rash and wait for the more or less convenient pump.
Good luck.
