Satelight on Vantage?
Is the Satelight installed on the Vantage compatible with the Dish network? I'm going seasonal at a campground with no cable TV. It seems if I switch to Dish, they will provide a 211 receiver that I can bring along with me when I go camping.
Thanks.
Its a 2013 29rls if that matters..

I have dish network I purchased a winguard X2 dish that came with the 211 receiver. All I did was activate the receiver thru dish network and pay on a month to month contract that I can cancel anytime and I get the same channels I get a home

Welcome to the forum
The satellite prep in an RV is just the coax. Satellite signal requires RG6 coax, and regular TV uses RG59.
If you have a Satellite "in" port on your exterior then your good to go.

Thanks. Yes I see satellite ports on the outside of the camper and a satellite receiver on the roof. I also see mud everywhere in CT.

If you have a satellite dish on the roof, then you will have to be sure it's programmed for Dish. Depending on what brand you have, there should be a set of "dip" switches and an explanation for configuration.

Jim,
The satellite ports on the outside were most likely factory installed, but the satellite receiver is NOT a factory option and was either installed by a dealer when the unit was sold or installed by a previous owner (???) after it left the factory. For that reason, it could be any one of a number of different models that are available at CW or other RV outlets. There was no "standard model" satellite dish assembly that was a factory option.
So, you'll need to check the setup configuration of the dish on your roof. Most are compatible with both Dish and DirectTV, but the settings may be different. To find what is compatible with the dish on your roof, you'll need to climb up there and see what was installed.

Top dogjim,
Are you certain you have a satellite dish on the roof? The factory installed antenna is a round shaped one for air signals. If you have satellite it will be in addition to that dish like antenna.

That flat round thing in the middle of the roof sure looks like an omnidirectional TV antenna, not a satellite dish.
