Above ground holding tank
We will be camping this year at seasonal site. I am having a hard time finding an above ground holding tank/black tank. I am looking for something about 250 gallons or so. Does anyone know where I can find one of these, or where did you buy yours from?

For a container that size, I can only think of a tote. Do you plan to take the tank to a dump station or have it "pumped out?"

The campground we are at comes around and pumps out your tank whenever it needs it.

Here's one source, but I'd verify that it is legal to use in the county and campground you plan to use it. Some places have some pretty restrictive rules about such things as storing sewer waste......

I have seen temporary office trailers at construction sites with large black plastic waste tanks. You might try contacting an office trailer rental company. They should be able to give you some info on large tanks. Agree with the above, though. Check with the county health dept.

That is the one I found as well. The campground we are at sells them, I just thought maybe someone on here would have experience and know a good place to get a tank at a reasonable cost.

When you start looking at tanks in the 250 gallon size or bigger, shipping must be done by freight. The freight charges on almost any tank would be greater than the price of buying it locally in most situations. Freight charges are significantly higher than UPS, FedEx or USPS and usually would make buying large items cost prohibitive in small quantities. You'll probably find the tank (plus shipping) to be cheaper if you buy from a local source.

Thanks for the advice. That is exactly what I have been finding. I can find the tank for lower cost but the freight is crazy.

Check with a company that specializes in agriculture. In TN we have Tractor Supply or a Farmers Co-Op, They have them or use too...

I wish I could have those tanks at my coast lots. When I purchased them I had to pay about 8,000 each for septic inspections, tests, tanks, drain fields and pumps.
