Towing over your limit

It’s videos like these why people will never have the correct trailer/truck combination for safe towing. While these two seem extremely sweet they’re misinformed on what towing numbers actually mean. Their inadvertently suggesting Timbrens transforms a 3/4 to a 1ton. It seems they have already had a run in with the “weight police” on a forum.

I gotta get me some air bags and make my one tone an F450! Heck, might get two sets of air bags and make the clunker and F550! Folks, if you see it on the internet, it MUST BE TRUE!

I agonized over this for months. I had a 2015 crew cab 6 ft 6 inch bed 2500hd duramax diesel.

Knew we were going to buy a fifth wheel. Payload was only 2300 pounds. 20 inch tires only rated for like 3150 pounds.
Neighbor across from me at the campground had the same truck as mine, but 2 years older Said it pulled his Jayco 336fbok just great. (Turns out the 5th wheel I bought has a gvwr 2500 pounds more than his).

So I can buy higher rated tires, timbrens or sumo springs or air bags, Hey if I use an anderson hitch I'll save almost 200 pounds, I think I might be able to do it. Figured I was going spend near 2 grand.

Then I saw an article on facebook of a 5th wheel truck rollover on I57 north of me. Said the F250 had blown out a rear tire and lost control. Both destroyed, pieces laying everywhere.

Traded off my duramax for a 2018 Ram dually that's in my sig. 5400 pound payload and 4 back tires.

Welcome to the dually club...

I have them on the rear of my truck.
Fully loaded my TT is a touch under 5k lbs I still think they are worth it because they really reduce porpoising.

I totally agree that weight limits are weight limits and actually most mfg's limits are crazy over rated but the Timbren bump stops work for me.
Or maybe I just think they do....
Either way I'm happy.
