Dang son... cooped up too long? Bwhahahaha I have often considered sneaking a roll of Charmin into the camper but I am the one who would have to do clean up... Families that give up Charmin so the ol' guy can haul 'em out camping are probably due some slack if they have experienced the joy of RV POTTY PAPER! Come on Charmin! We put a man on the moon and you folks can't design a toilet paper that completely disintegrates when hitting the water?

We use Wet Ones and Wet Ones Big Ones quite a bit when boondocking.

The regular size is used for after BM, paper first and then Wet One.

The Big Ones are used in lieu of showering to conserve water.

After use each wipe is wrapped up in toilet paper and placed in a trash can.



FWIW, we use Quilted Northern Plush paper and it goes in the black tank.

Use them. Keep a small covered waste basket next to the toilet. Put them in there, dispose of in sealed bag when full. Some folks also burn them.

We purchased and plumbed a bidet into our system so now a quick squirt with the bidet cleans and a pat dry with a single sheet or 2 of RV tp and clean as a whistle.

I work in a hospital. I can tell you no wipes break down, and using them at home is a giant clog waiting to happen. They are purposed to throw away, but marketing found out they'll 10x as many of they say flushable. Plumbers make a fortune on clearing these. Do yourself a favor and set $$ aside so when wife says the toilet is clogged, you can tell her to call a plumber.
What should you use? Toilet paper is the only type that will break down. Or, call a plumbing contractor, ask for a prepay discount.

They're wet and don't leave lint in the "curlies" like wet toilet paper and some are even scented to smell like lavender or lilacs.... Unlike a wet washcloth, they don't need to be laundered.

Think disposable diapers vs cloth diapers and plastic/rubber pants to cover them....

It's all about "disposable convenience"...

Think of the wipes the same as you did with the white corn cob -- the one you used for the final swipe! And then a small trash can.

All I got to say is some of y'all gotta have different poop than the rest of us.
Must be them rutabagas in those pasties.
Come down south and eat more mustard greens and sweet potatoes.
I never had a issue using TP.
Whatever pulls your trigger though.

OK, this is going to be TMI for a lot of people, but here is how to use wipes (flushable - no such animal - or not) with a residential or RV set up. You need your baby/body wipes and puppy poop bags. Have a bag handy. Take a dry wipe (yes, I have one ALWAYS ready) and your bag before you get serious. Do your business. Take the dry wipe and set it flat on a nearby surface - the edge of the tub works perfectly. Use 3 - 4 wipes on the affected area, fold in half, use again, fold in half and set on the dry wipe. Proceed in a like manner until 'clean'. Take the dry wipe, put the used wipes on one corner and roll up neatly. Fold over until you have a neat little package - insert into puppy poop bag and press out air and tie off. Toss into waste basket.



Done. Problem solved. Works at home too, because whatever the package says, NO wipes are 'flushable'.

Fulltimed for 10 years & never had an issue using whatever tp the DW likes being flushed in a rv toilet.

Don't knock it till you've tried. I was a skeptic when the wife waned a Bidet. But after installing the first one in the house, I found it was really "nice!" installed the second one in the house. And then finally, installed one in the camper.

Advantages? Toilet paper usage has gone to complete "zero" usage. You can't possibly imagine how nice this was when the Covid "thing" was causing the toilet paper shortage. We couldn't believe the stupidity in people hording TP. We just smiled and said we were so glad we had NO part of any of that, or the fear, or the anxiety in wondering if we'd be able to get another "roll." Second, "bottom" is clean and refreshed, feels like you just came out of a shower, every time. Third, no TP in the RV holding tanks, cleans and dumps so easy and nice now. Fourth, the septic tank at home has no TP floating in it any more. It has a removable lid and I can dump my RV black tank into it. I've seen the septic tank become less and less covered in "white" and now covered with .... well ... you know.

We also have a 7 year old living with us. He absolutely loves the Bidet! He says it "tickles". Yes, he plays with it, but there's never water on the floor.

Another post, different approach.

I went back and re-read some of these posts and I agree with some of the previous comments. You should have the wife and kids (I bet they are girls), dump and clean the tanks. Once they see what they are causing, they will change their ways. But you have to be tough. If they don't comply, remove the toilet completely and then they have to use the campground facilities. Or dig a hole in the ground!
