325SRX Wheel rating

Does anyone know what the max air pressure rating is for the OEM aluminum wheels (16").

I'm sure they are different for each wheel like a 5,6 or 8 hole?

Rating usually stamped on rim rear, or in valley UNDER the tire.

The 325SRX has 5200 lb. axles and that weight can be easily carried (with at least a 20% margin) by the stock 80 psi ST235/80-16 tires. Just curious as to why you would want to increase tire capacity? (if that's what you're considering...)

Just curious as to rating without having a tire off to check. I agree the OEM tire should provide lots of margin.........With a fully dressed bike on board I am 300lbs over axle rating on right rear and half that on left rear.

I ran across a ST235/85/16/12 Hercules tire with a 95psi max pressure and a 3960lb rating.

Was thinking it would be a good tire to upgrade to if ever have problems with the Towmax.

Relative has several enclosed cargo trailers that are on the road everyday. After several brands tried , he gets best service from the Hercules. He uses 205/75/15 size and they are at max load 100% of time, with service life of 30,000miles.

I understand. Like you, my 325SRX is loaded heavy and my strategy was to replace my Towmax tires (which while having a half-decent record do seem to show a number of reported failures in various threads) with 10-ply Maxxis (which seem to have virtually no reports of sudden failure), staying in the same tire size. Admittedly Internet reports are imperfect and anecdotal, but what can I say, it's all we have. Also I'll note that when comparing the two tires off-the-rim (both ST235/80-16), the Maxxis were noticeably heavier and had much stiffer sidewalls than the Towmax, and I mean a surprisingly noticeable difference. This also is circumstantial and I can't say with certainty that it will translate into a safer tire... but I think I can make a pretty good guess. I'm confident with my tire selection now and actually don't even think about it any more while going down the road, which was my goal.
