Running AC when plugged at home.

Have my Laredo 330TG plugged in at home using the small adaptor. Can I run the AC on a normal home plug?

I tried but it tripped the breaker, 15 amp isn't big enough.

I just run a new 30 amp from the panel to 5 ft from the trialer. Now its no problem.

I have run my AC off of a 15 amp plug with no problems before. Make sure everything else possible is off. Run refrigerator off gas if you need it running.

I have recently ran a 50 amp service for our 5er. Now I don't worry about it. In fact I have both ACs and both refrigerators plus other things on as I type this. We are packing up this week getting ready for the weekend.

15 amp circuit trips for my 13,500 A/C but the 20 amp runs everything fine.

It seems to me that if a 15 amp circuit could run the A/C, then I’d be able to run my AC (with *nothing* else) from my Yamaha EF2000iS generator. This is not the case, even with a hard start capacitor.

I guess your mileage really does vary when it comes to powering air conditioners.

Much will depend on the temp also. The hotter it is, the more likely it will trip at some point. My 13.5 runs fine on 20 amp if it's under 87 or so but when it gets hotter than that, it's about a 50%-50% if it will trip the breaker.

IMHO, it depends. The real answer is it depends on the VOLTAGE INSIDE your RV when the A/C is turned on. It is ok if voltage dips below 110 VAC for a second, but if it remains below 110 VAC then turn OFF the A/C because;

There are too many loads turned on in your RV, or
the wiring in the house on the circuit you are using is inadequate, or
the extension cord you are using is inadequate, or
your electric supplier has an inadequate voltage.

What else is on the 15 amp circut? My garage outlets are on the same breaker as all my outside lights, the outlet outside the back door, and all the bathrooms. Makes for a very busy 20 amp breaker (in my case). The joys of a GFCI breaker..

Watching my Progressive EMS ... The fridge draws about 4 amps and with the AC on it jumps to about 19 amps ... so 15 is right on the edge. You may win some or lose some.
