My Anderson has always done exactly as you describe. In fact one time, it actually cracked the red mounting around the hitch. I reported it to Anderson and they replaced the entire fixture for no cost. Now I chock the truck and trailer and raise the trailer in one continuous motion and it comes off nicely.
Additionally, I just traded my rv and got a truck with it in the process. The new truck and trailer were set up with a traditional Curt hitch. The bucking and chucking compared to my Anderson were awful. I am ordering a new Anderson as quickly as possible.
