New Owner of a 2020 Cougar 25 RES

My wife and I purchased a 2020 Cougar 25RES in January 2021 and have logged about 1,000 miles so far. I'd like to connect with other Cougar owners to learn from your experiences, share issues / resolutions we have had thus far.

Retirement is coming at the end of he year and we'll be traveling several thousand miles next year.

Welcome!! We looked at the 25RES but went into immediate sticker shock
Really nice unit though, congratulations on making it happen.
I'll settle for being a little jealous and hoping for Publisher's Clearing House to knock on the door.

Welcome & congratulations on the pending retirement!
If you'd go to the "user CP" in the header bar then go to "edit signature" to add your rv & tow vehicle & any other information that may be helpful with future questions.

Congrats on your Cougar purchase and Congrats on your upcoming retirement.

You are approaching retirement in a very wise manner. You are gaining experience with your new Cougar a year before going full timing with it. I have always recommended this approach. You have done well.

Again! Congtrats!

Welcome fellow 25 RES owner. We have the 2021 and within 3 months we took her out on 7 weeks cross country trip. I’m not sure if we got lucky or the product is really good but we never have an issue with it at all. Everything works as it should be except the inaccurate tanks level indicators which is not exclusive to Keystone, Cougar model.

Hope you enjoy your 25 RES as well and good luck in your retirement.

Welcome. We also have a 2020 Cougar 25RES and have really enjoyed it. Love the floor plan and the size fits our needs to a T. Logged about 60 days in 2020 and pushing 90 days this year. Only real issue is that I had a blowout with only 6,000 miles on the factory tires, luckily there was no other damage. Immediately replaced all four tires with Goodyear Endurance and also installed tire pressure monitors. Do yourself a favor and replace the factory tires before you put too many miles on them. I hope you enjoy your 25 RES as much as we do.

Welcome to the forum.
We have a 2019 Cougar 25res and love it. The original owner, I think, didn’t know squat about maintenance, so I’ve done a bit of that getting it into shape.
Now I’m having a black tank flush issue, but hope to have it resolved soon.
In the future I hope to get covers on the roof vents and a second air conditioner..

Good points here about the OEM tires. I have 8500 on it already and installed the GUTA TPMS. Time to shop for new tires.

Enjoy your trailer it’s perfect for two. My wife and I love ours. Lots of room and storage for everything. Only downfall is the outside kitchen. I took out the mini fridge, put it in my shop and store my Blackstone Tailgater and outside pots and pans there now.

Congrats on your retirement and on your new fiver! We celebrated 2020 by purchasing a Cougar 23MLS last October and spent 4 months, Dec7-April 7 in it, across 16 states and over 10,000 miles with not one problem! Best camping trip ever! We couldn’t be happier with our Cougar! Here’s hoping you are blessed with many adventures, and no problems!

Gave ours back

Loved the OTG, water capacity. We made Keystone buy ours back however. If you never plan on gravel roads, you'll be fine. Perfect length, pin box was superb for hauling. Enjoy

Why did you have Keystone buy it back?
