Installed it under the counter after all. It's tight down there. Couldn't figure out where the insulation void was in the exterior wall, to place the display near the iN-Command tablet, so low on the cabinet it went.
6awg wire is no joke. This is why electricians exist!

Sorry I've been busy with work. It sounds like you have the job tackled. I hands and shoulder were whooped after my installation. How do you like it so far? I am always checking the display monitor when I'm using shore power. Where did you place the error code card in case you run into a problem?

Got it wedged back in the bottom of that void, held in by all the other wires. Couldn't get enough of my arms into the void to bolt it to anything, so it sits there at the mercy of gravity and the pressure of rubber-coated copper. I like the display, though it hasn't seen anything but 120v/15a from my shed, but it keeps the fridge going. The error code card is in the drawer above it, so easy access. is there a way to turn off the display without bypassing the unit? Or does the bypass switch leave the protection in place, but simply turn off the display?

My understanding is that if there is an error code issue like an open ground-the bypass will allow the electricity to your rig which could cause damage. I don’t think there’s a way to dim or turn off the display. I remember reading that shouldn’t disconnect the display unless there is no power going to it.

Mine is in a cabinet, don’t have to get dressed to look at it.

I installed my monitor with the HWH and fan controls. After I installed the ems I tried to snake the wire into this area. I gave up after a half our. I completed this last Sunday morning. I’m happy with the result.

I would suggest finding someone with arms/hands yhat fit in yhere sevure it for you. You may think it's secure but uou may be suprised one day after traveling over a rough highway (plenty of those nowdays right?) with no power or other things that may not work . Those "wires wedged " holding a heavy EMS could chafe or pull out of their connectors. It would be a lot more convenient to do do it right the first time rather than at a cg at jight with tired hungry kids waiting on you to fix the camper while you wait gor the smoke to clear.

Surge guard
My setup. The only thing I don't like when using a generator in-line with it, it will take up to about 5-minutes for the surge guard to say it's ok, then it will pass the power through.
