Being that I am posting in a RV maintenance forum I would think it would be obvious.

Chris a little info would help. What kind of windows? Which windows and on what etc. Most folks go back with an OE type seal.

What's obvious to me is that no one can help you out without some information. Yes, this is an RV forum but that wide of a brush paints a large picture. You do not list the make, model and year in your signature or post so it can't even be narrowed down to the windows in that specific unit which there may be several different styles.

So without knowing more info your question would be like going to a general maintenance forum for trucks and asking " what wheel bearing are you guys using?". Everyone is just trying to help you out.

There is different seals for installing the window. Dealing around the exterior top and sides, and the “seal” that goes in the frame on the outside. So...no it’s not obvious.

That looks like putty tape. Can you trim it with a plastic knife? Unless your taking the window out, I would just use a plastic tool:

That’s the set I have, and clean the edges.
