City Water/Fill water tank

Currently having an issue with the valve that determines city water/fill water tank. The valve is set to city water but water is coming out the over flow for my water tank. I'm thinking the valve needs to be replaced but also wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue and if they know what caused it. Maybe a simple fix so I don't have to go to the shop or fix it myself.

it could be the valve or it could be check valve on the fresh water pump. The selector valve typically has O rings inside and nif you you cycle the valve under pressure, i.e. don't turn the water off first, it can blow the O ring out of place.

This very likely could be the check valve built into the water pump has failed or has a piece of debris in it. You can either take apart the valve on the pump to clean it, sometimes just running the pump a bit will dislodge whatever is keeping that check valve open, or the pump can be replaced if none of the above works.

A pic of the water valve and make and model and year if RV would also help.. if this is an Anderson 4 way valve the repair parts are no longer available from Anderson or anywhere else... an upgrade to the 3 way valve is what Anderson has now..
