Slide out question

When I hit my slide out switch, there is nothing. Can someone tell me where there might be fuses, breakers, etc. on a VR1? I really would like to check those kinds of things before I take it to the dealership since it is out of warranty.

Bamagirl,
As said above, you need a charged battery to operate the slide even if you are connected to shore power or the Tow Vehicle.

Does it make any sound in either direction????

I had sort of the same problem. My problem was a junk battery also corrosion takes place as well. you may want to check all connection points to the battery ie. eyelet to terminal, cable to terminal....

Do your other items that use 12 volts work like, the overhead lights, radio? If so you are getting power to 12 volt items. The problem is the slide out uses a lot of power and has to have a good battery and good voltage to work. As stated above check the battery and connections. There could be any number of things wrong besides a weak battery or bad connections at the battery, some of these are; a bad switch, blown fuse, blown reverse polarity fuse (none of your 12 volt stuff will work if this is the case), bad slide out motor, a broken wire some where. First, do the simple stuff, check and make sure the battery is fully charged, check the 12 volt fuses in the electrical panel.

I'm not sure about your ability to check said things but you'll have to try or get some help from a friend, your dealer or if you live close enough I could have a look see.

The 12 volt fuse are located in the electrical panel that looks like this...http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CGoQ8wIwBQ#

The 12 volt fuses look something like this and are under the front cover of the electrical panel...http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CHAQ8gIwBg#

Let us know how you are progressing and if you need more help.

i just had the same problem last week, and i started to get upset untill i looked in the fues panel and saw that the S.O. fuse was blown, i then put 2 and 2 together and figured out that S. O. was slide out. call me old but i am not good with abriviations. good luck

p.s. on mine the fues was a larger amp, and a diff. color then the rest in there, i think it was a 20 amp. all the rest were 15, i think.

Let's say everything looks fine, you are camping and your slideouts will not retract.

What is the approved method to retract your slideouts?

Slide Out Question....Thank You

Thank you all so much for your help and replies to my question. After reading some of your posts, I realized that there were two fuses in the box that were not labeled. They were green 30 AMP fuses and were the only two in the box not labeled. I pulled them out and realized they both were blown. Replaced them and the slide out works fine. Not sure if they were both to the slide out but I don't know of anything else that was not working.

Again, thanks for your quick replies. I'm sure you've saved me hundreds of dollars...LOL.
