Question Longer Equalizer Shank Effect

The rear hatch on my Tahoe will not clear the power jack on my 19FBPR. I have the 12" shank on the Equalizer hitch now. I see that there is an 18" shank available which might let it clear but I am concerned about the ramifications.

It seems that the longer shank will add tongue weight (good in this case) due to more leverage on the hitch, but are there any other things I should be concerned with?

Thanks,
Don
