AC bolts loose

Here in SC we had a 70 degree day. I opened the slides, raised the ladder and pulled the AC filter on my 2010 Fuzion FZ322 TE II. As I did so, I noticed a gap between the intake and cool air side (ducted air) of the unit. I pulled the cover of and ..,the bolts that hold the unit on the roof were loose, 3 out of 4 anyway.
I sealed the air gaps, tightened the bolts and fired the unit up. Seems to work better.
Has anyone had this happen? We're there vibration issues of laziness issues?

Htfiremedic, Howdy;

A quick and easy way to keep the nutz-n-bolts/screws where ya want'em
is borrow a few drops of you wife/girlfriends nail polish and put a drop on
the screw threads then tighten the nutz. works just like lock-tight, and a lot
cheaper.

Those bolts are not supposed to be tight. They should only be tightened enough to compress the foam seal. This should be mentioned in the installation or maintenance part of the owners manual. JM2¢, Hank

I had a gap between the cold and intake. I used several strips of corrugated card and tape to fill in.
I also, had the 4 loose bolts. Snugged them down to slightly compress the thick gasket.
Also, the foam filter material needed more velcro to hold it down in place.

The A/C seal should be checked on an annual basis and replaced if necessary. Over time, it becomes overly compressed and starts to deteriorate. Another preventative "chore" to do while carrying out your roof inspection and maintenance.

+1

Should be part of yearly maintenance, easy to get to bolts by dropping inside AC frame.

I didn't get to my rear AC yet. I'll check it this week. Just got a start on my PM's. first spring trip will be Spring Break for DW and the kiddos, first week of April.
Lots to do prior to that!!!
I also repaired a loose heat duct and found that the breaker to the Washer/Dryer hookup was missing the black wire. It was there, the screw tight, but the wire was just sitting in the breaker.
Thanks for the input. This is my first unit as an owner. I have maintained my Inlaws tag along for years, just not owned one.
I sense a learning curve approaching!!
