Fresh water tank

How much bleach do you need to put in the fresh water tank? Is a 1/4 cup enough or do you need more?

It is basically a 1/4 cup of bleach per 15 gallons in your fresh water tank. I save old gallon milk jugs, put 1/4 cup of bleach and fill each jug with water. I use one jug of this solution for each 15 gallon ... so a 43 gallon fresh water tank gets 3 of these.

The correct answer depends on whether you intend to drink the bleach water, or decontaminate an infected tank (and then drain the water without drinking it).

For direct drinking, use no more than 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) per gallon. Anything more is dangerous.

For decontamination, use 1 tablespoon (15 ml) per gallon. Anything more is a waste of bleach.

Fresh water tank

Or; you can go to Walmart and buy the Camco product, follow directions and be satisfied at the result. Comes in a reasonable sized plastic bottle which is ez to use and store.
