xLite 31RKS hitch question

In looking at the specs for the xLite 31RKS, I see that it has a tongue weight of 940#. Are you using a Class IV or Class V receiver hitch with this trailer?

We are expecting delivery of our new 31 RKS this week.

We have an Equal-i-zer 90-00-1200 Class IV hitch assembly. It is rated at 1200# tongue weight and 12,000# loaded trailer weight.

I will be replacing the ball on this assembly as the current one has had a lot of use since 2006. Fatigue failure is a possibility from all the cyclicle stress although remote.

I replaced the factory 1100lb rated class IV with a 1500lb class V unit I found on Amazon(Curt 15522 XD receiver hitch). My tongue weight is right around 1200lbs when loaded.

Thanks.
With a tongue weight of 940# then adding full propane tanks plus storage items it seemed that a Class IV with a Weight Distributing tongue weight of 1200# would be calling it a bit to close.

When we pick up our new cougar we will load it and head straight for a scales. If near the 1200 lb we return to the dealer will upgrade. We don't travel very heavy.

Have you ever has a full round of weights taken? Just curious how the 31RKS weighs loaded, hitch and wheels.
