As many of you have possbly read we had enough problems with our level up to have 4 different Lippert techs in diffetent states doing repairs to our system. All 4 recommend leveling b4 putting slides out.

Our case me be slightly different as our level up was added to our Alpine so the level and hydraulic slide systems are totally seperate.

I have the chains on the Anderson because some states require them and if the hitch ever failed when I’m in an emergency braking situation I hope between them and the toolbox and the cab of the truck the trailer stays out of the front seat
I had a trailer plug work loose on our previous 5r and got into a hard braking situation luckily the truck was heavy enough to stop me but I did smell some hot brakes
So now after making sure the cover for the trailer plug is firmly latched on to the plug I put a zip tie around the cover and plug. I don’t really want to test my luck again

This is what and how I do it. I found doing it this way makes it easier. Is it the best way I don’t know. But it works for me.
1. Pull into spot and before unhooking check level of camper just to see how close it is or if I need to use wood blocks to drive up on.
2. Unhook and level camper.
3. Connect electrical
4. Connect water hose/filter
5. Connect the sewer hose.
6. Open up slides
7. Turn on water heater
8. Set up inside and relax.
When breaking camp do the reverse.

I chock first and then connect shore power the very next thing, even before unhooking, just to coddle the battery as much as possible. Otherwise, the same.

I park trailer on 2" x 8" pressure treated planks, chock wheels, add wooden blocks under jack pads, auto level, slides out. While umbilical cord is connected to running truck.
I use the Andersen and I ordered the chain and plate kit. Better safe than sorry.
