Refrigerator temp gauges

Wondering what everyone (or anyone) does for checking temp of refrig while driving? I currently use an old LaCrosse in/out wireless thermometer @ 915MHz. Sometimes I lose the signal. Do you just check it at stops, use a thermometer (maybe with an app), or what?

Run your fridge on propane as you drive and don't worry about checking the temperature. Lots of folks on here do this and it is not a problem. If you have a residential fridge, you can run it off an inverter hooked to the battery. The TV alternator will charge the battery as you drive.

I take the "Alfred E Neuman approach" to refrigerator temperature while towing.... WHAT? ME WORRY??? It's worked for 50 years without an ulcer to be found.....

Between maps, GPS routing, tire pressure and temperature, truck status and listening to DW's conversation, there's enough "information overload" without adding refrigerator temperature...

I've used an AcuRite 00986 Refrigerator Thermometer for about 6 or 7 years now. I bought it off season as a "clearance" item IIRC at about 60% off. I liked the idea of being able to look at a record of low temp so I would know if anything went bad if it wasn't monitored for several days. Also a way of monitoring the fridge temp in the heat of summer hut I don't consider it a "must have" item but more of a habit from being in the resonant construction business .

I’m like John. Run it on propane and leave it alone. Even if it goes into fault mode the food will stay cold since the door is closed.

I always run the fridge on propane while traveling and I make sure it is running whenever we stop (which, between the DW, the dog and the tiny fuel tank is probably 200 miles or less ) and there have been instances where the fridge is in fault mode so I just turn it off and back on and all is right again in our traveling universe.

I extended the shroud around the burner and that has lessened the number of times it goes into in fault mode.

I keep an old thermometer in the freezer and keep the unit in auto so it switches to propane when unplugged. I check temps at stops and always have around zero (F) in freezer and refrigerator is always cold. This is on a 2008 Hideout, original equipment, never had a problem.

This has nothing to with 'while driving' but because I was having cooling issues with our Norcold 2118. We use the AcuRite 00986 Thermometer.

Has been a good unit to confirm we fixed our issues.
