My front landing gear jacks are very slow and most of the time won’t pick up the camper off of my truck for the last 2 inches or so, do I need to change the motor or put a bigger motor on it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My impact is 2015 the motor slowly started loosing power . I upgraded to 6500 landing gear motor and needed a 40 amp breaker .

It’s probably just the original motor that’s going bad..a new same spec motor would probably be sufficient...if you go with a bigger motor, make sure the wiring can handle the increased amp draw..fuse accordingly

It's possible that the motor is no longer producing the torque it "used to produce"... It could be the motor, it could be that the wiring going to the motor has a corroded connection along the path, it could be a bad ground, it could be a battery connection... And, it could be the gearpack on the "follower leg. There's a zerk fitting on the follower leg (the one that does not have the motor) and that gear pack can get dirty, start binding, have a bad/broken gear or just need to be cleaned and lubricated.

Before spending $400-500 for a new motor, I'd at least inspect the entire landing gear structure, the motor, cross-drive bar and follower leg gearpack.

You know that’s why I’m leaving it to the rv experts. I feel like I’m helping but it can be EXPENSIVE being a parts changer...better to check everything like John suggested..I have a lot to learn about rv’s
