Water flows

We have a 2013 SGS 5th Wheel. We bought new in 2013. We have not had any problem with it until this year. When we fill the dry water tank up, it comes out the city water in a big flow. But when we hook to city water it don't come out the dry tank. What could be out problem?

Im confused but let me see if I understand:

If the fresh tank is full and you use the water pump it comes out of the city water connection? If your hooked to city water then there isnt an issue?

If I am right then the city water back flow valve is either stuck or failed. Its in the middle of the city water hook up. WITH NO water pressure, use a small screwdriver to gently push it in and see if it reseats.

Here's a link to a you tube video that does a pretty good job of explaining how the backflow valve in the city water connection works. I'm not so sure it's "worth the effort" (reliability) to try to repair a leaking/malfunctioning valve other than to try to reseat the O-ring if it's leaking. IOW, just push on the valve stem, if it starts working, great, if not, IMHO, just cut to the chase and replace the valve or the entire fitting, whichever is available at your RV parts store.
