Well I did try to soften the ride for her a bit. I knew the shocks were a little rough on my truck so I installed new ones. Little did I know I’m removing them that they were SHOT!!!!! So hopefully that helps a little. We shall see.

My truck has aftermarket shocks and I keep the 80 psi in the tires even when not towing (too lasy to deflate then air them up again) and I had put aftermarket bumpers between cab and frame (Ford uses crappy material for the originals) and the truck rides harsh and squeeks to the missus isn't crazy about riding in my truck but I have had quite a few Ford trucks and all felt like trucks and not like cars (like Ram and Chevy).

I know a truck rides like a truck. No complaints from me. I checked my tow ratings on the truck and I have a good cushion left so I am feeling good about it.

I didn’t get a chance to run across the scales like I wanted but I did order a Sherline tongue scale and I am at 700 pounds tongue weight. So I think I should be pretty close. Hopefully I can hit a truck stop on the way and hit so scales to verify.

700 lbs. That’s quite a bit less than all the estimates people throw out. Will be interesting to see what the scales say. Have a great time camping!

The "estimates people throw out" are based on GVWR as I stated in my post. Why? We know the other end of that trailer weight, the empty "as delivered" weight doesn't exist and never will again. That empty weight from the factory is invalid the minute the transport driver sticks his battery in the battery box for the breakaway switch. Then when the dealer gets it they put in a battery that the customer will get along with propane tanks filled with propane, a spare tire, typically an RV "starter kit" (cheap fresh water hose, dump hose, a roll of toilet paper, a spare tire carrier, and a few pounds of coupons and advertisements.

Then once the customer get's it home it's adding bedroom and bathroom linens, cookware, kitchen ware like knives, can opener, spoons, colander, pots, spices, canned goods, drinks, clothing, paper products, cleaning products, coffee maker, toaster, maybe an ice maker, more hoses, maybe an electrical cord extension, some fire sticks for hot dogs and marshmallows, pie makers, hatchet, leveling blocks, maybe a bedroom television, Solar panel? Satellite dish? Bean bag toss game? Fishing gear?

Point is, the vast majority of campers will end up much closer to the GVWR than the empty weight. If not on the "maiden voyage" then without a doubt over time. Most people will find themselves finding the Lodge Iron Cookware set and think "gee, that would be perfect for the camper!", or those cute matching rugs, throws, and blankets with the camper on them. Seems like it usually accumulates over time as nothing gets removed to accommodate the incoming "stuff".

Of course there are exceptions to this but I think they are far and few between.

With that 700lbs you've used up 1/2 of the available payload of your Armada plus the 125lbs for the hitch.
You didn't mention whether the RV was loaded ready to camp or how much water onboard when the tongue weight was only 700lbs. Load it up ready to pull out to the campground then slide the scale under the tongue for a true weight.

That was loaded and right before pulling out. #30 propane tanks one full and the other half full. I put maybe 10 gallons of water in it. Just enough to flush a toilet. A couple times on the road.

You may want to rethink the "1 gallon of water" in the fresh tank. Typical fresh water tanks a gallon may not cover the bottom on the tank. We usually travel with right around a 1/4 tank of fresh water so if the camper is a little off level (like every parking lot is for drainage) the pump pick up hose will still be covered. I'd guesstimate that a simple flush of liquids in the toilet and washing hands after would use about a 1/4 -1/2 gallon of water.

Also keep 4 - 5 gallons of water in the blank tank before leaving. The water sloshing around in the black tank helps to keep things liguified.

Thank you for the suggestion. It meant to say 10 gallons in the fresh tank the 0 must have not taken. The water in the black tank makes since though. We normally only paee in the camper as I don’t like messing around with the other however we are trying to limit exposure due to COVID currently so that’s a good idea about the black tank.

As to not wanting to do #2 cause you "don't like messing around with the other", I'll let you in on a secret, your kitchen grey tank very often smells worse than than the black. You have to hook up the hose regardless, dump the black first, then the kitchen followed by the bath grey, you will have no issue with "the other" stuff.
Use a "septic safe" 2ply toilet paper, plenty of water per flush, add a clear 45 degree to the RV before attaching the hose & use it.
You bought a RV for the convenience, use the conveniences as designed.
Unless it's absolutely necessary I ain't going to the bathhouse or porta potty when I have a nice clean convenient one 4-5 steps away.
Just my .02 cents!

I agree. We have really enjoyed not having to leave the campsite for the bathroom. The newer camper has so much improved living conditions then our older one that we really are enjoying it.
