Hi there! New member, fifth wheel 2009 Cougar 26rls , truck 2014 Ram 1500 v8 5.7. Lots of experience with building and fixing sailboat, but this is only my second Rv, my other one is a tent trailer. . Some aspects of rvs are very similar with boats but some are very different. We plan to travel Canada and the U.S..

Welcome from Maryland. Lots of knowledgeable people here to help you on your journey. I've owned several boats and several "towable" RV's and here's my observation on the differences: Boats move on their own and RV's have wheels. But seriously, In my experience the biggest difference is in the electrics. The boating industry adheres to higher standards in color coding, type of wire/breakers/fixtures/etc. (marine grade" while the RV industry not so much.
