Light bulbs

Does anyone know what size/type bulb goes in the exterior courtesy lights on these RVs. On my 2000 Montana the light above the door burned out. I removed it to get a replacement and left it in the RV. It's 120 miles away and would like to get a new one on the way up there this weekend. The bulb is one of those that's flat on end with 2 wires that kind of wrap around the outside of the glass and serve as the contacts. I've seen some in Wally world that look similar and they have them in different wattages. I'd like to get the brightest I can find. another thing is the lens for this light is amber, do they make clear replacements?
Also the big white round light on the other side of the camper is out as well. I haven't climbed up to look at that one either. Any idea what size/type that one is? Anyone ever try to clean up those lenses when the get foggy? I'm assuming it can be buffed out like a headlight lens????

That is a 921 automotive bulb, available at auto parts stores everywhere. It's the same bulb that is used extensively in the interior light fixtures in our Keystones.

If you go too high in wattage the lens will melt and yes they make replacements in clear or amber.

Yep that's my bulb from above the door.
Think that's the same bulb under the big round lens on the other side of the trailer?

I don't think so if you are referring to the large round light fixture with a metal flange.

That same fixture is used as a overhead ceiling light in ambulances and other professional vehicles. Let me look in our ambulance tomorrow morning and I will let you know what bulb is in there. There are a half dozen of those lights in the ceiling of our rig which really lights up the work space.

I'd check my trailer, but it is in storage until mid April...

Thanks.....I meant to pull that bulb before I hauled the trailer to it's current location.
Of coarse I probably would have left that bulb with the other one anyway!!

CaptRon, I would wait till your back at your trailer and have the bulb in your hand. Then head off to local parts store to get replacement.

SteveC, is probably right at a 921.

It is definately a 12v bulb and not a low voltage landscape type bulb.

Wattage is what will different.(12V that is) There are many bulbs that look similar, but not interchangable.

CaptRon,

Simply for reference - this particular RV (porch) light shows a 12 watt bulb...
I'd say that's probably the standard wattage. Yes, replacement lenses are available.

The "big round lens" on the sides of the trailer are commonly called 'Scare Lights'.

In the RV supplies, the bulb packaging is sometimes labeled 'Scare Light Replacement'.
Several years ago, on a previous RV, our bulb was a #1295. A dealership might know if
that's the standard bulb for these lights.
