Lightbulb Surge Protector Error Lights

Have a 30amp system, have a power hook-up for home storage coming from a garage sub-panel, surge protector has been all good lights until today when the "power on neutral" warning light was indicating a problem. Put a meter on it and 1.9 volts were on the neutral wire (124 v on the hot line). I spent hours researching for comments on continuing or not in plugging in the trailer with that error, but no luck. Saw a video of a user having the same red warning light on the same unit but said user commented "looks good". Spent some time looking for the source of the voltage leak in the garage to the neutral line, but it never went fully neutral. Is this just a case of being able to put a bunch of tests in a surge protector with some that don't matter, or is a trace of voltage on the neutral line not an issue when attached to the trailer 30amp hookup. Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Welcome from New Jersey, Can you test another nearby outlet? And is the protector plugged in to the outlet directly?

You might start with putting a signature on your posts to include year/make/model of the camper and the same for your tow vehicle. This saves time by having this info on hand for folks to provide answers with context. Also provide the make and model of this surge protector. Last, fully describe your home power connection. Is it 30A running from your circuit breaker box? What type/gauge wire and how does it connect specifically to your camper?

What "surge protector" do you have? Who wired the 30 amp supply from the garage sub panel? Voltage on the neutral beyond a few MICRO volts is an issue. The cause can be varied, from a malfunctioning appliance plugged into the circuit to an issue with the transformer out on the utility pole.

If you are not well experienced in working with electricity I'd suggest you call an electrician. It's a lot cheaper to have an electrician work on it than pay for a funeral or lost wages from injuries related to electrocution.

Every neutral in the garage has the same 1.9v. Gar/shop was built in 1958 before the house was built. Is the signature a manual entry, or is there a way to have it automatically added based on what we all entered in the system when signing up? Not onsite now but likely the Camco 55310.
