Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling an estimated 84,202 model-year 2019-2020 Ram
2500 and 3500 pickups equipped with 6-speed automatic (68RFE) transmissions because a build up of pressure and heat inside the transmission may result in a transmission fluid leak from the

My 68 went out and the trans shop said that it was common when they are used for towing. We were pulling 15k and just went through Jelico at the Kentucky TN border. I did trans filters and fluid every spring. The trans went to around 210 by Knoxville and went out in Crossville. Just have not heard of many good things when a 68 is loaded up.

If you're happy with the truck, change the axle to a dually.

Besides the trailer is a full body paint with some/lots of black so a black truck would match better, not that that's a primary motive. Function over form. Haven't had a black vehicle in a while so maybe time to try it again. Main thing again is underpinnings.

Ain't nothin' purdy'er than a clean shiny black truck.......... ain't nothin' harder than keeping a black truck clean & shiny.

All I have to say is there's a reason why GM moved away from that Bosch pump. My guess is way too many warranty claims. The 17 and up GM trucks use a new pump for the life of me I can't remember what it is though

Plan is to get a F-450. I know it may seem like overkill, but I have built and priced 350 and 450. Smart money, IMO, is on the 450. Its a beast, but, so am I.....6'5" 275lbs.
Never driven a dually before, but I read they're kinda hard to handle by themselves. That true? Or, just something I have to learn?

They are not hard to handle! Other than the wide hips, note; if mirrors fit so will the hips, & the length it won't handle any differently than any other pickup. You'll learn quickly to maneuver it like a Porsche, my DW did.

Ok then! Good! Looking forward to it.
BTW....What is the process after I build and price one online? Just take it to a dealer and say, order it?

I havent done this, but was told, if you're going to order a truck, find a dealer that does high volume in trucks, they may have the best - lower incentives, rebates, to save you a few bucks... if that matters.

If you are married, buy a box of chocolates (or similar) and smile at your wife a lot till she asks you what you are up to. Tell its just cuz you love her. Then spring it on her all slow and gentle. Then find the dealer of your choice and let the missus pick the color.

Makes sense. I have only bought new once in my life and this will not only be the 5er puller, but my retirement truck as well. I'm going all out on it too. Going brand new. Hope there are some incentives and stuff in about 6 months.

Oh, I am happily married to the best girl ever. She's all for getting this truck. She loves bad *** MAN stuff, so she is quite pleased with my choice, and yes, she got to pick out the color.

I buy only new vehicles and I've spec'd many. Two ways to approach what you are trying to accomplish; go online and spec it, print it then give it to various dealers to see if they can find what you want. I've never (that I recall) had them find one exactly like I spec'd but they got close - generally with more equipment than I wanted but had all the "must haves" (like the Laramie in my sig).
You can take the spec sheet and take it to dealers and ask what kind of deals they would offer if they ordered it for you. Typically you will just get the factory incentives if any. I've only ordered 2 and those were within a couple of years then I decided I got a better deal when buying from stock vs ordering. The dealer wants to move that inventory and will give you various "dealer" incentives that you usually (I didn't) get when ordering - they have no money/loan etc. against the truck so it's basically you paying them to order it, accept it, do the make ready and the paperwork.
If looking to get one without ordering go to different dealers - deals offered vary a lot by individual dealerships...and states, from what I've found.

Here are many online pricing sites, including Costco's auto program. I create a folder with multiple quotes and carry into the dealer store in full visibility and ask to speak to the fleet sales/internet sales guy. The guys up front will not want anything to do with you, as you are not a mark that they can score on, leading you down the back hall to a guy that is going to work with you.

Every time I've bought a vehicle I start at the "front room" but it doesn't take long before the manager is in the cubby hole trying to work the deal. I really hate the internet negotiations because they are going to low ball badly. I was discussing a 2020 Laramie with desired equipment with a Pensacola dealer yesterday and the numbers on the truck were close, not too bad. BUT his trade offering, steal better word, was more than 10K under KBB and NADA trade values. When I get such a ridiculously low-ball figure I lose patience dealing with them further. USAA had, I say had because it ended yesterday 1 October, that I hav en't used for any negotiation, just a bargaining tool at times.
