Roaches!
So I have discovered a roach problem in my rig, I've sprayed, fogged, put out roach motels, but they keep coming back. Any tips on how to get rid of them short of burning it down?

I stayed in a travel trailer in Houston for four months and found that bugs are nearly a problem if you put food trash in plastic Walmart bags and tie them up tight in the trash can. In addition, the food in your pantry can be smelled by a roach a million miles away. Put all open boxed stuff in sealable plastic bags. They are advertising a spray on TV all the time that is supposed to get rid of the buggers with "essential oils" and be safe for kids and pets. Can't recall names but dousing all the under cabinets seems reasonable. Remove panels and douse.

Unless you are on a permanent site, why not move the camper to a different location. At least that would confuse the boogers that keep coming in and going out?

If you've tried all the non professional types then I'd say it's time to call in the professionals, they have stuff that works that's not available to you without an exterminators license.

Boric Acid powder. They walk innit and take it back to the nest.

I don't believe the usual methods are the answer if your problem is bad as you say. Danny's suggestion of a pro puts this behind you. Keep in mind that they are only there for two reasons: To eat and to irritate you! Keep the food from them and the irritation goes away.

We have thoroughly cleaned, have put out boric acid tablets (Harris) and are now keeping an eye on things. Hopefully this gets rid of the little buggers (pun intended).

I also was in Houston last summer for my job, and I think that's when they decided to hitch a ride.

Boric acid will kill 'em but don't let that stuff near your food supply or your pets (if you camp with critters) as it is a poison to humans and critters; This stuff is pet/food safe as it relies on essential oils:

I'm not sure pellets is the way to go. If you are going to use boric acid then use the powder. It kills the roaches two ways: it scratches their bodies and causes them to dry out, and if they ingest it the boric acid is a poison. Just sprinkle it around next to the wall and in cupboards where they hide, also near sources of moisture.
As an added benefit, boric acid will soak up any stray thermal neutrons that happen to be floating around.
WiredGeorge's statement about keeping the boric acid away from pets, kids and food is spot on. If you have kids or pets, find another method of eliminating the roaches.

Yes, when using Boric Acid, just like anything else, read the label warnings and directions. Anyone not capable of doing that should consult their guardian.

I use a mixture of boric acid, powdered sugar and powdered chocolate milk mix. Mix them all together (I believe it’s 1:1:1 ratio). Put it in low flat containers in the high roach traffic areas, and someplace your children And or pets won’t get into. The roaches will get into it and get it all over themselves and take it back to there party house and share it amongst their family!
As said above, read the warning labels.

I use Bifen XTS. Spray the interior before leaving and the camp site when I arrive. Around the wheels and jacks, doors and windows. Amazon no longer sells it but Ortho Home Defense uses the same ingredient.

Try an ozone generator. I am told ozone will kill everything. I have a company service van and some times I work in places that smell very bad and has a lot of flies. Needless to say I don’t want to ride around in a stinky van and I don’t enjoy flies. So at the end of the day I run a extension cord through the window and plug a small (bathroom size) ozone generator. In the morning there is no bug, flies or smell (other than ozone.) The ozone dissipates quickly with the windows open and the fan turned on.

Working construction across the US we picked up roaches along the way, and for about a year and a half we tried everything, I mean everything! we could buy to get rid of them. Nothing worked.
I even called the exterminator companies, and because it a RV no one would touch it.
Between jobs we were lucky enough to stop by home and while there the exterminator was making his scheduled stop and I got him to do whatever it is they do.
A few days later, no more roaches. That’s been a few years ago.

I have not seen any roaches in the camper but we have other pests so before our first trip of the season I buy a 3 pack of the Raid dry foggers and set 2 off in the camper and one in the pass through.
I make sure to open every cabinet and close it up for 4 - 6 hours.
We usually have bug free camping after that.

We had a mouse join us for a while til the little bugger couldn't resist that piece of apple on the trap.
After that I found a sonic pest repeller at the local Ace hardware & thought what the heck, plugged it in & never so much as a cobweb, no ants, no spiders, squirrels would detour around the rv & birds would land but immediately take off again, well worth the $10-12.
I also used the Ortho home defense spray around everything touching the ground when parked.

^^^^Ortho Defense spray goes down after we set up. When we winter I spray it every 4-5 weeks on the ground around the trailer, the levelers, tires cables, water hoses etc.; anywhere bugs can crawl up and get in. I've had success with the sonic repellers but had to stop using them because they bothered puppy. Haven't had any issues with the bugs inside. Now, if...IF they just made something to repel, kill, deter or otherwise get rid of no see ums I'd be happier than a possum full of grits!
