2017 Passport 2520RL Leaks

leaks around back rear window
slide leaks when in - caused spongey floor
now roof in bedroom passenger side leaking
we bought this camper Brand new. we have only gone out 10 times (due to still working FT)
How does something that is bought brand new have this many issues. the water pump was replaced last year. how do we fix all these problems. do we do it ourselves. or argue with the service contract people

The forum is literally filled with issues very similar to yours. It all "starts" with the owner's responsibility to check/seal the roof on a regular basis. If you have documentation that you've done that, then you might get some assistance under a "goodwill gesture" or a "replacement program" funded by Keystone. If you can't prove that you've done all the preventative maintenance to the roof, then you may be facing a very difficult "uphill battle".

Take a look at your Keystone Owner's Manual and study up on exactly what you "should have been doing for the past 4 years" and see if you've met all the requirements for maintenance on your trailer....

It may seem "odd or unrealistic" to some people, but your first "roof inspection/resealing inspection" was due 90 days after delivery of the trailer to you and every 90 days after that. It's on page 80 of the 2017 Owner's Manual:

"Inspect the roof at least every 90 days, paying close attention to all seams and/or joints and attachments where sealant is used. Look for cracks, shrinkage and/or gaps/voids in the sealants. These must be carefully cleaned and resealed. It is necessary to use the same sealant as originally installed if touching up cracks, shrinkage and gaps/voids. There is no way to know if 2 different brands of sealant will seal to each other. DO NOT use any type of
silicone product on the rubber roof material."

I'd suggest you first review the Owner's Manual to make sure you KNOW exactly what your requirements are and then see if you have some sort of proof that you've been doing EVERYTHING that you're supposed to have done. If you can substantiate those things, then contact your dealership and get them involved. They can/probably will be your best option to get Keystone's help. After doing those things, you might consider contacting Keystone Customer Service and discuss what's next.

If you can't prove that you've done your part "to the letter" then on a trailer that's four/five years old, you likely won't get much "out of warranty help"....

Take some time and review other member's posts on this (and other forums) to see what they've done and how Keystone responded to their problems....

I think you'll find a "consistent pattern" in what the factory does, based on preventative maintenance, time frame of ownership and dealership documentation.

The "key to success" is how the dealership documents their initial report to Keystone. If they simply say, "a 2017 trailer with leaking windows and some water intrusion with an owner who is requesting out of warranty repairs"

Well you can guess how well received that would be at Keystone....

On the other hand, if they go into great detail about the damage, your inspection frequency and what was found, receipts for materials used during the inspections and even better, work orders where their own service department did the work.....

There's a lot of difference between the "first report" and the "second report"... One is "guaranteed to be declined" and the other, well, maybe it will be more favorably received by Keystone.....

Don't just let the dealership "do their thing".... Discuss, in detail and at length, with the service manager/warranty writer, exactly what they will document and report to Keystone. How they word the report will have a significant impact on who pays for the repairs and whether Keystone will even consider any help....

Remember, you only get one chance to make a good "first impression".... That report to Keystone will be your "only chance"....
