It looks like somebody hit a "helluva hole" and broke the spring hanger. I don't suppose that it would be considered a "collision or comprehensive" problem, but ......

I do know that coverage "exclusions" differ from state to state and what's covered in one place may be excluded in another place. As an example, in Michigan, hitting a pothole and destroying a tire/wheel would be "owner responsibility" while hitting a pothole, destroying a tire/wheel and losing control and rolling the vehicle would be covered.... Why the difference? I can't tell you, but one is covered and the other isn't.

I am hoping keystone will step up to the plate and stand up for a disabled veteran. And make this right.

I wouldn't suppose veteran's status would enter into repair on a 4 year old trailer. Thanks for your service, but I don't think you'll get any preferential treatment from Keystone this far out from your warranty expiration.

Wow what a power statment. I would think that keystone would like to support our veterans and all its customers. If there product is only good for a few years than it should sure cost like it. I paid a good sum and lots of monthly payments for the right to have this rv. And would expect it to have some longevity.

I am sorry for your problems but I'm afraid John is right. It's a 5 year old trailer and Keystone will not know what it has been through - nor will they care since it's 4 years out of warranty. I appreciate your service as well, and I'm sure Keystone does too, but I wouldn't count on them doing anything to fix the problem.

Good luck. Let us know what they say. A coworker had a similar experience with his Wildcat 5er and FR didn't step up to the plate.

A lot going on in that first picture. It looks like it cracked along the beads where the hanger was welded to the frame. Hard to tell, but is there rust along those cracks? Could it have been getting ready to go for a long time? How easy would it be for a frame shop to fix something like that?

This is of no help but that's no fresh crack you have there. I see a very small area that was still holding before full failure happened. Inspection is a must so things like this don't get out of hand. How many miles and parking maneuvers has your trailer been thru ?

Yes the cracks started at the welds. Then all that was left solid has vertical portion of the I beam frame holding the spring mount until it let go. That's why the frame rail has a Z shape to it now. As for a frame shop, I'm not them but it's very "straight" forward as compared to a vehicle frame with many bends so I don't see any reason why they could not handle the job. However they'll be the one's to say yes or no so give them a try.
