Transition to Lounge

Hello from Texas!
We are thinking of remodeling our Bullet into a Cigar Lounge. Has anyone done something similar that can advise us on Do's and Don't's??? Any info is greatly appreciated.

I've never done that type of remodeling, I have helped rebuild old campers into nice usable ones however.

Before disassembling anything, keep in mind your camper is built from the inside out. That means, the interior walls were put in first then things attached from the opposite side. So screw heads are actually on the opposite side of the wall.

Same is true for the outside walls. Typically, the walls are installed and cabinets are screwed in place on the outside of the wall, so you'll never see the head of the screw. Last, a skin is put over the outside of the camper hiding the screws.

However, if yours is aluminum frame with the styrofoam middle, then the construction will be from inside out, as the walls are complete and just lifted into position, then things attached from the inside.

Still, it can be a real challenge to disassemble the interior "stuff" without hurting existing walls you don't want hurt. Be careful, take your time.

I'd wager most of us have no idea of what sort of amenities a Cigar Lounge requires, and so would have a hard time advising you how to get from here to there when we don't really understand there.

First I'd ask about the extent of use for this "cigar lounge". Are you talking about a commercial venture where it will have extensive use, or someplace to go in the back yard where you can smoke a stogie now and then or??? What amenities do you want to retain, i.e. kitchen? Bedroom? Storage?

Will this "lounge" be used year round or seasonal? Lots of info needed in order to give relevant advice. For instance, the furnace has no filter nor any way to add one. Heavy smoke will accumulate in the furnace and ductwork that will stay there and permeate with every use. Another factor is humidity control. Humidity and water intrusion is the enemy of any RV. A major consideration of how you store cigars (a cabinet with humidity control, a walk in humidor, a cigar box with a glycol strip) is important.

The relevance of the advice given can vary widely given the parameters of the intended use.

Which Georgetown are you located? We have a Georgetown Texas, by the way. I personally have no idea what a "cigar lounge" entails... Perhaps if you elaborate folks will be able to take a stab at helping.

George,

Cigar lounges can be found in some airports and in some tobacco stores. Sometimes called cidar bars, they are typically a seperate room and consist of some comfy seating and a television or 2. I've been in couple at airports where I've had a long stopover or flight delay. I found it relaxing to spend the time working on my laptop while smoking a stogi. Typically they have "smoke eaters" (ion generators and air filters) that reduce or eliminate the smoke odors.

Thanks! Never heard of it and don't smoke myself.

Good day. I used to work for a cigar shop that had a portable humidor/ lounge in a 30' v nose cargo trailer. I'd be happy to give you any information I can to help out. Let's get a conversation going.

What's the use case?

What seasons?

Are you including a humidor?

Is it going to be mobile?

I'm sure i will have more as time goes on.
